Certain
events have happened over the course of season 1. The interns start to become
comfortable with each other and open up about their family life and personal
conflicts that they face. One rule that was said on day was not to sleep with
the interns to each of the residents within the hospital. The example would
destroy the stake of the hospital’s status, even after warnings they yet to
take place. Relationships have developed between Meredith Grey and
Derek Shepard and Cristana Yang (intern) and Preston Burke (cardiac surgeon).
The fact that interns are sleeping with their residents is a bad situation that
will result in major regret later on. In this season Meredith’s fantasy about
“Mc Dreamy” (Derek) will start to fall apart upon the reveal of a neglected
subject, his marriage. These two relationships between the interns and their
superiors have been a secret and took place in the “On-Call Room” within the
hospital. The secret is revealed when their business is aired out among their
colleagues.
Besides
those four characters the other interns start the create names for themselves.
George O’Malley obtains the name Double-O-Seven when he performs a
full-blown surgery in the hospital elevator. This was an unexpected turn when
the power went off in the elevator. Alex was in the same elevator and was the
designated surgeon to conduct the procedure but at the time she had flaked. The
underdog surpassed the top dog of all interns. Izzie starts to show her
compassion towards her patients but what she does not know is how to control
her emotions during certain situations. I feel that in order to be a surgeon in
any field that is one of the first things that they must accomplish.
To
conclude the season the writers end the show off with an actual bang! This
occurs when there is a bomb planted inside of an unconscious patient. In order
to conduct the surgery and save the entire wing of the hospital Meredith must
now place her hand inside the patient to stabilize the active bomb. Great
ending!
