Season 6

Over time people grow apart, things change, and one must accept the fact. In this season all of this is exhibited. The most crucial part of this season is the death of Intern George O’Malley; hit by a bus trying to save a civilian’s life. In the episode the quote was “As surgeons, you must put your life on the line in order to oblige by your oath of medicine. George O’Malley lived up to his oath.” I felt that the quote was a heartfelt statement of this series. Such an unexpected event has occurred, and no one knows how to react. Obviously the cast is reading lines and faking the entire thing but from a viewer’s point of view you feel as if George has really died.
From watching this series for 6 seasons now, it has become a custom to see all these familiar faces and see how they progress. Now that this character has died it changes the story line and also plays with the views emotion. This is what the producer has excelled at in my opinion.
Other than that in this season other events do occur such as Or-tho Surgeon Cali Torres and Peds Surgeon Arizona Robbins committing to one another as true lesbian lovers. But Cali, who is from a religious family, has a father who is trying to “wash away the love for women and change it back to men.” Interesting surgeries also put Cristina Yang and other fellow colleagues to the test during the duration of the season.
