Season 3

            Season 3 is a continuation of an affair that has taken place for the past 3 seasons. Derek is already married to a legend Addison Shepard but is “in love” with Meredith Grey. During the season she appears with divorce papers after she has tried to rekindle the love between her and her husband. The reason why this affair between Derek and Meredith occurs is because Addison had an affair of her own, with Derek’s childhood best friend, Mark Sloan.  Derek did not know that he would fall so hard with Meredith but is enjoying being with her. His original plan was to attend Seattle Grace Hospital to escape his hectic home in New York.

            Besides this corruption, Izzie is facing problems of her own. She has fallen in love with one of her patients who is diagnosed with terminal cancer and is in urgent need of a heart transplant. The problem is that he is nowhere close on the list to receive the surgery.  Her love for her patient has her interfering with medical protocol and may put her job on the line. She is willing to take it to that extent. As you can see she still has not managed to put her feelings aside when at work.

            This season ended like no other, an accident occurs at the Seattle shoreline where hundreds of surgeries and rescues must take place. The interns and residents set out for a long day’s work and to their dismay, Meredith’s life will be in jeopardy. It is up to Derek to save her or let her drown…
